This is my first year in my own classroom. Some materials are very expensive and hard to purchase by yourself. I took over another teacher's classroom mid-year, so I have had very little time to purchase and organize things.
The major purchase in this project is my classroom carpet. I currently have one big piece of carpet for students to sit on during whole-group learning. I have tried putting different things on the carpet to indicate students' spots, but they continued to get ripped up. A carpet with spots already on it will be great to help keep students more focused on learning rather than the things that are stuck on the carpet.
Finally, the rest of the things I am asking for in my project and materials for my students to use. Chart paper is a great way for me to model spelling, writing, and even write mini lessons on. Table caddies help the students organize materials that they need to keep at their table. Also mailboxes for the students' completed assignments to go in. All these materials are small things that simply help the classroom run smoothly.
