My first lesson was "place-value" and at the beginning, I took a lot of time thinking how to teach this topic until I found out that drawing will help them; but it takes too much time, that is why over the material I asked place value coins. This material will help my students to see the units of place value; since the end of the year is coming my students will get a better understanding of what it is place value.
Then, I realized that it is my first year of teaching, and I do not have Science material or Math material. I do not have supporting material like experiments and hands-on material. Kids LOVE to work on Science and to do experiments. So far, I have seen that they learn when they get involved in activities. They get motivated and engaged. Science lessons and Math lessons can be combined. They can relate Math concepts with Science concepts. Students can get a better picture of what they are learning by using the material.
