Students will be able to investigate, plan and make a variety of art projects related to the Social Studies curriculum. The students will create an artifact that was used to trade among the different American tribes of California. For this project, they will use a variety of natural beads to design and create a necklace. In another project, students will use molding magic clay to create a basket similar to those used by the Maidu Native American tribe from California. These projects will give students a clear visual representation of the tools used by California Native Americans. Students will be curating and presenting their artwork to families and the school community.
