During my hockey unit, we have games outside. In the past, students would be chasing/retrieving their hockey balls when they miss a shot or pass. With the mats, I would like to create a "rink" so students can continue playing the game without constantly retrieving their "pucks."
Other benefits these mats can provide for the students besides hockey barriers would be for other activities/games such as practicing gymnastics, Matball (version of kickball), snowball fight activity (using them as forts), Floor is Lava game, as well as extra-curricular activities after school.
I decided on this project because the mats I have now are old and there are so many uses in a variety of different games/activities during and after school.
