All my students are ELLs ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and languages. I have many students who are just learning to read, while others are discovering what piques their interest in reading. However, one thing that all my students have in common is that they love learning about different cultures, holidays, and seeing something in a book they can relate to.
These books will help my students learn about different people in the world, such as cultures, places, and even learning abilities. This will help improve our reading library, especially with a wide range of learners and grade levels who visit my classroom.
While not all these are books, the rest are resources to help my students improve their listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. ELLs need lots of visuals and my students learn the best with a wide variety of visuals and manipulatives. We play lots of games to make learning fun and interactive.
All these tools combined will help my students improve and see that reading and writing is more than just a pencil and book. They will be able to see the world through it and it will help them become life long learners.
