Flexible workspace empowers students and allows them to take charge of their learning. In my classroom, students have learned to take charge of their learning by documenting and tracking their data. Now that they are half-way through putting Personalized Learning into practice, they are in need of safe and comfortable workspace. Our current desks are very old and are often lopsided which makes it hard for my students to do their work comfortably. They have learned how to solve the issue by either placing paper under the desk legs. Most of the time, they end up waiting on me to fix it since the leg screw is stripped and no longer holds the legs securely.
Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them and will help them value our classroom community.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less distracted when they have a secure place to work. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them a safe and comfortable workspace. They will also be able to have their own desk rather than sharing a desk because theirs is not at an adequate height.
I have seen how my students stay engaged in a functional workspace and hope you can help them stay focused in the twenty-first century classroom I am trying to provide!
