My school is the second lowest economically challenged in the state of Illinois. As teachers at my school, we are dedicated to provide our students with the best education possible. Having flexible seating increases autonomy and optimal learning. We have seen students grow academically using flexible seating. Giving students the choice of where they want to sit will decrease behavior issues that tend to get in the way of their learning. My students will be able to choose where they want to go in the classroom based on where they think they will learn best.
Flexible seating will help my fidgety fourth graders to stay focused and increase their chances of optimal learning. My students face daily challenges that other students their age do not have to face. Learning at school should not be another challenge for them. Having these items in my classroom will provide them with the opportunity to learn at their highest potential. Research has shown when a student is given the opportunity to take charge over their learning they grow so much more. Having flexible seating in the classroom allows for them to do just that. Students are able to become more independent and create a higher autonomy. When students reach high autonomy they are reaching their optimal learning.
Please be apart of my journey in providing my students with the best classroom environment possible.
