Our kindergarten team has the idea to create a communal play center. The way that our kindergarten classrooms are set up is with one common area surrounded by each classroom. Our idea is to give students the opportunity of purposeful play as well as social-emotional learning.
The puzzles are beneficial for students as they have been known to improve cognitive skills, problem-solving skills, fine motor development, hand and eye coordination, social skills, and self-esteem.
We also need a place where we can store all of these puzzles and students are able to have easy access. This is where the storage shelves and plastic bins are needed. Students will also be taught responsibility skills as they will be expected to clean up and put puzzles away.
