A positive impact of Pandemic Teaching is that I have learned how to create virtual hands on manipulatives and experiences that enhance mathematical understanding for my students. We routinely use math manipulatives through programs like Desmos to allow students to experience exceptional math activities even when online. We are able to discuss, predict, and prove math properties using technology. Using headphones allows for personalized learning.
Virtual learning tools such as headphones help students reach higher levels of mathematical understanding. Discovery learning, even remotely, is possible and exciting with teacher directed learning activities.
