I have approximately 350 total students as the school counselor. Our school, Taft 5th Grade Center at Linwood is a second site to Taft Middle School. 5th grade has been moved up to Middle School within OKCPS and with this came many changes for my students, but they have adapted quickly due to their resilience. Out school has a diverse population of students which has enlightened them as a whole to cultural and economic differences. We are a Title I school providing one hundred percent of the children with free breakfast and lunch with the vast majority of students coming from low-income environments. My students are resilient, hardworking, thoughtful individuals who never give up despite the obstacles they face at school and outside of school.
