This is a small Media Center in an urban school district. We have two main goals in this Media Center. Promote life-long readers with new, highly-engaging books, in addition, to preparing them to engage in their technological world.
Kindergarten through Fifth grades have weekly visits to the Media Center. One visit focuses on library and multi-media. The other visit focuses on technology. Our school gives every child their own computer, and their teachers and I help them to be independent, responsible, and safe with technology.
Although my students are attending a city school while living in a near-poverty neighborhood, they deserve to receive the same opportunities and resources as a suburban school inside of a wealthy neighborhood.
Our school is lucky to have well-behaved, respectful students who bring joy and hugs to us every day!
