Do you remember when you were a child and the teacher said, "It's time for P.E." and you were so excited because that meant no work of course, but more importantly, it meant you could go outside and play with your friends? Not much has changed over the years, P.E. is still a favorite subject with 5th and 6th-grade students. They love to be active and especially to be outdoors. However, the question never changes, "What are we going to do for P.E.?" and it seems to be the same answers year after year dodgeball, handball, four square, run the mile, etc. You get the picture...boring!
My students are tired of the same old P.E. games so I searched for a game that can be played in a variety of ways, is played competitively, and at the same time, students are synergizing. After watching a video that demonstrated Basketball Pursuit Ball, I knew my students would love it!
