Students love to listen to stories but they also love to read books on their own. Having the opportunity to have a classroom library where they can choose their own books would be a valuable experience for them. Not only does reading help them learn reading comprehension and fluency, it also helps them when they write.
I want my students to love to read. This classroom library will be an opportunity for these students become lifelong readers and learners. Some of my students do not have access to books at home. Books give them experiences that they might not get to have otherwise. Not only does this project impact students of this school year, but it will impact students for years to come.
