These products will help me teach the children about the importance in stay healthy. We talk a lot about not sharing germs throughout the school year. With these items, I will be able to give the kids a more "hands-on" approach to how germs are spread, proper handwashing hygiene and overall health throughout the year. "Clean Gene" will be making an appearance to our classroom. We will read a story about Gene going through the day's activities. The students will need to identify what moments could have lead him to getting sick. Afterwards, the children will complete a "Clean Gene" word search to develop vocabulary words relating to germs. Finally, I will show the children the proper way to wash hands and "catch our sneezes". While making sure the children have the tools available them to stay healthy all year long ensures consistent attendance. Those tools are Clorox Wipes, Kleenex and hand sanitizer. Making sure that the children are healthy enough to return to school each day also allows us to make sure that the children are getting the appropriate meals. Some of our students are in foster care or are homeless. It's the small things that we can do that make the greatest impact on our school community. Making sure that the teachers are healthy also leads to more days that are filled with lots of energy, more efficient lessons and more fun!
