The things requested in my cart I have been wanting to purchase for two years now! The two ways I would like to make our classroom better are to add flexible seating and warm lighting.
There have been a few studies that show when choice is introduced into learning, it becomes more meaningful and students will buy into it with greater enthusiasm. One way that I would like to offer choice in the classroom is to introduce flexible seating options that allow students to have a variety of seating choices. It will especially help the students who struggle sitting still stay working.
My students are always asking to turn off the lights because the flourescent lighting is so harsh. Unfortunately, without the lights, it's often too dark to work. I would love some lighting options, aside from my little Ikea lamp, that makes the class feel warmer and allows us to work with the flourescent lights off.
