Ukeleles have become popular in the elementary music classroom as they are easy to play and very engaging for the students. In this day and age, it is rare for kids to find a way to learn and create without the use of a screen. Ukeleles will help them find an additional way to express themselves that doesn't involve screen time. My school is a Title I school, and most of my families do not have the means to pay for music lessons for their students. My class may be the only opportunity these children receive to explore the world of music making with a "real" instrument.
Please consider donating to my project and place instruments in the hands of some great kids who might not otherwise get the opportunity.
Music gives students a diverse approach for learning math, reading, social studies, and science. It truly connects all curriculums. It is a valuable tool for social and emotional learning as well and allows for powerful self expression.
