These books will continue to enhance the classroom that I strive to create. I have created a large classroom library over the many years I have been teaching, but, it there are always so many more books to share and expose my class to. My grade level has started using a new reading program this year and I would love to add many of the targeted weekly books to my classroom library. We have been listening to many of the ones I do not own read to us online, and this is okay, but my class LOVES to be read to! I share new books with them daily and it is always one of their favorite parts of our school day. This books would then be available for my students to select in our classroom library, for independent reading time.
Let's continue to encourage a love for reading! By donating to our project, you will help my students want to read more and expose them to new literature. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an incredible interest in reading and listening to a wide variety of literature, and this project will only help enrich their experiences in the world of reading.
In addition to being exposed to new literature with our new reading program, the program includes an art/writing project at the end of the week. My students have really loved this part. They enjoy doing the guided drawings and adding written sentences to accompany their work. I am teaching my students to be proud of their work, so they mount their projects on brightly colored paper and love to trace their writing with black markers to make it stand out.
Together we are building a literature/language rich classroom!
