These seats and fidgets will support students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being. While learning in the classroom, students will have the opportunity to choose where they would like to sit, select their cushion, provide meaningful activities for them to fidget with while learning, and minimize the impacts of interrupted learning as a result of COVID-19. These resources will not only relate to ELA speaking and listening content standards, but will encourage students to engage in collaborative discussions in the classroom.
In this unprecedented period of time, students are facing extra challenges receiving an education they need to be successful. In order to combat learning loss, I am interested in creating a classroom environment that will increase student on-task learning time.
This project utilizes the following 2nd grade standards:

SL.1.b. Build on others’ talk in conversations by linking their comments to the remarks of others.
SL.1.c. Ask for clarification and further explanation as needed about the top
