This is our first classroom. We spend a lot of our time sitting together on the rug. We begin our day building our classroom community doing morning meetings. We play games, share stories about ourselves, and meet new friends. Throughout the day we gather on the rug for read-aloud, for mini lessons, watching educational videos and for specific instruction in literacy, math, science and social studies. Our students with disabilities require many places around the classroom to access their learning. Our carpet from past years is oversized, the students desk are sitting on top making it difficult to move their chairs in and out. There are a few stains and is worn out. Our rug is an essential part of our classroom as they spend much of their day on it learning.
Our classroom theme is Home Sweet Classroom and our goal is for the students to always feel relaxed and comfy. Please help brighten our student鈥檚 new school year with a brand new, clean rug. They deserve to come into a classroom that is clean, comfortable, and inviting. A new carpet will allow their 3rd grade classroom to feel like home. As well as giving the students the option of sitting on the rug when they get antsy after sitting at their desk for such a long time, or for those who struggle seeing the SMART board from their seats. We want them to be excited and comfortable to learn this school year and with your assistance that could happen. Thank you for your help!
