Schools are tasked with building a college going culture in schools because without attaining any type of postsecondary education it will be hard to be a productive adult. So, as part of our college going culture, every 1st Monday of the month staff and students are asked to wear their college shirts. Many of our students do not participate, because they do not have a college shirt to wear. Most of their parents can't afford to buy them shirts. While it does not appear that this would be a big thing, having students participate in school events and activities is vital if we want students to buy into the culture that we are promoting. The college shirts that you donate will allow our students exposure to college. Yes, it's very small, but the shirt that is donated will allow them a chance to go explore the shirt they are representing, and feel apart something bigger . These shirts will be given to the students who are currently leaders in our AVID program.
