I have been teaching now for 16 years. I work in a very small district. Funding is always an issue. We have never been able purchase graphing calculators. I myself have spent time on ebay purchasing used ones as much as I can out of my pocket but they typically don't last long.
My students are great kids. The area we live in is very rural there isn't any industry around. Jobs are scarce and many of my students live at or below the poverty line. Due to their economical position they are used to going without, I just would like to have something that they can use that would give them the advantage that all other students in other districts have.
Please help me give these great kids the opportunity others have. They work so hard.
