According to education researcher John Hattie, learning should be visible and feedback, immediate for learning to be most effective. By helping to fund this project, you are enabling students to show tangible ways what they are learning through the creation of anchor charts.
Anchor charts allow collaboration of learning among students. Through the use of these anchor charts, I'm able to provide immediate feedback to guide and encouraging student thinking. The easel allows students to see clearly the key ideas for concepts they need to learn in class for both reading and writing. Stickie notes act as a way for individual students to create personal anchor charts for their writing notebooks. I am able to have one-on-one conversations with students about the key ideas from the anchor charts they have created for their writing notebooks. Visible learning encourages collaboration and feedback between teacher and students, and anchor charts are a great way to engage students in this important learning concept.
