Many of my students are English Learners and need support of engaging visual aides. BrainPop can increase my students' language use, vocabulary, and comprehension in many subject areas. The videos pose questions that we can pause, have a class discussion about, then play the rest of the video to check our thinking. The animation is also a wonderful to supplement my lessons. One example, I have used this to teach my kindergarten students about fire drills for Social Studies. A drill can be scary and unfamiliar for new students. The video is a way to teach them why we have them and what to do. Moby, the robot always add some fun humor that get my students laughing. BrainPop is a wonderful resource.
