The classroom library I inherited for my Spanish classes is incredibly outdated and not at all interesting or engaging. Some of the books consist of 4 or 5 pages that just have one or two words on each page. For the last 3 years I have been using the fairly minimal instructional funds available to bolster a library of leveled readers for my students. These readers are great for my Spanish language learners with their repetitive phrases, scaffolded language, and simple grammatical structures. However, my school and my classes do not simply serve Spanish language *learners*. The Hispanic community at my school has been growing quickly, and when Heritage and Native speakers take my class, there simply is not sufficient reading material to challenge them. With this project, I hope to build a Spanish classroom library of fiction, nonfiction, anthologies and more to appeal to all of my students. On this list there are classics, modern bestsellers, books written natively in Spanish, books translated to Spanish, fantasy series, anthologies, books about social issues, diverse authors, diverse subjects, and more. I want my students to be able to look and find something for them.
