I want to take a course from New Jersey Center of Teaching and Learning (NJCTL) to enhance my teaching skills in high school physics. This course will help me to further my learning as a teacher, and will enable me to teach physics with a real life connection. Students will benefit from this course as they will learn physics concept and they will be able to relate them to real life. For example, when students learn about waves, they will learn with sound and light wave. Students will analyze how waves help make music. This course will give me the knowledge that will help me to teach physics to students with better comprehension and prepare students to collect data and argue/analyze the data to come to conclusions like the real scientist do. Students learn better when they get to apply the concept. This course will help me to serve different abilities to students in the classroom with project based approach where the students get to engineer what they learn.
This is a STEM science course and it will help me to incorporate science, technology, engineering and math into my physics curriculum. While learning science, students will get an opportunity to use their skills to do engineering and math in science. Students will learn science with the real life connection and will be able to relate the abstract concepts in physics to real life.
This online course will prepare me to help the students with different abilities in the classroom by improving the instruction.
