Having flexible seating in the classroom allows students to have options. Some students work best standing up, some sitting down, and some kneeling or laying down. I want to be able to allow each student to do their best work and have the largest opportunity to succeed in my class, and giving them seating options does just that.
Should we be given the opportunity to have flexible seating, here's how it will work. Each day, the students will get to pick their seat for that day's activities, but they have to sit somewhere new each day of the week. The next week resets. This is to keep one student from hogging all of the materials or making a certain space inaccessible to other students. I firmly believe that giving students more choices in the classroom leads to them taking more charge of their education, and in turn, having more success academically.
