Research has shown that students that tend to read more independently are more successful interpreters of text, are better writers, and possess a larger bank of personal vocabulary, and I believe that the use of these Kindles in the classroom will provide students with more enjoyable opportunities for reading. In addition, using these Kindles will provide my students with an opportunity to explore texts outside of their limited classroom libraries as an extension of their learning, and increase their overall academic achievement by using technology as a motivational tool for developing their time spent as an independent reader towards improved comprehension of text.

About my class
