This new rug will allow for a flexible and differentiated learning space for my class. It will be used by students who need to work closer to the content, closer to the teacher or who just need a break from their desk! We use the rug for Read Alouds, Number Talks and for Silent Reading Space.
Our new rug will complete our classroom as a home away from home. We currently have a small rug that I bought for my class last year and only a few students used it. This year, when I invited the class to the rug, over half of the class moved to the rug and now we need to upgrade! This rug will create a communal meeting place for collaborative projects and whole group learning.
