My classroom is very small and jam-packed with workbooks. As I aim to keep the space as open, hands-on and student centered as possible, this project is aimed at maximizing my space and making resources accessible to students.
I will use magnetic materials and boards to allow my students to interact more easily with concepts and ideas. Students will represent numbers in different ways using magnetic charts and materials, and construct sentences in the pocket charts. The blue paper organizer will serve as an anchor for my independent work zone, providing a place for students to turn in their work and make their own choice about what to work on next.
The math manipulative will help my students interact directly and more independently with complex concepts.
