Going into the school year, I have been watching my students see what types of books they gravitate towards in my classroom library as well as the school library. I believe that every student should find a genre that fits them and their interests, and I hope to build my library with their interests in mind.
With these new Sequoyah books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. By having this specific set of books, I will be able to see which they gravitate towards more and use that information to help them find more books in that genre. We will be able to read a few as class read-aloud, and I hope that we can vote as a class on our favorites! I would love to introduce these books to my students and watch their love for reading grow each day!
