This is a basic and ongoing project, as a member of the climate and culture team at my school, we've done a lot to promote student wellness, but it all starts with the basics. My project seeks to feed students who may not have eaten, and provide paper for required class activities.
Student without their basic needs met, have less of a chance to meet their fullest potential. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is central to my schools climate/culture philosophy. Basic needs have to be met, especially for a student body with 60% of families living under the poverty line. Students have the same potential regardless of zip code. I believe in my students, that's why I care about their basic needs, and will continue to offer these items.
