As my third grade students progress throughout the year, my students begin to use their Chromebook computers more and more each day. By the end of the year, my students are very proficient on Chromebook computers after learning how to publish their writing pieces and research on the internet. Now, I am hoping that they can have a 21st century learning experience with a class set of headphones and privacy partitions.
Throughout the school day, we plan to use our headphones during classroom centers and the privacy partitions to create areas for students to focus on their work.
Many of my students are auditory learners as they listen to texts, watch videos, and utilize assistive technology. In order to meet their needs as auditory learners, our classroom needs a classroom set of headphones that will enhance my students' abilities to learn on their Chromebook computers. While learning about wolves in fiction and nonfiction, my students will be able to listen to videos of wolves howling as they learn about their different howls. A class set of headphones will also enable my students to participate in a listening center during reading centers as they study culture in different Magic Tree House books. Another way headphones will support my students is through their use of text-to-speech assistive technology. Also, the privacy partitions will ensure that my students are able to focus during classroom lessons and assessments.
Having a class set of headphones and privacy partitions in our classroom is essential for my students need to properly access the curriculum in an engaging and interactive way.
