Kids are always HUNGRY!
I would love some help keeping their tummy rumbles at bay while they are at school. The students in my second grade class are constantly hungry between breakfast and lunch. Although I have been paying for snacks out of pocket up until now, it is not financially feasible to do so over the course of an entire year. I sent home requests for parents to donate class snacks if they feel inclined, and so far only 2 parents have done so. Most of my students come from households that have just enough to get by so I understand why they can not donate, but that doesn't change the fact that these students are having trouble concentrating because they are so hungry.
I noticed that when students receive a snack, their mood, academic performance, and energy levels improve.
I will continue to provide snack twice a week with my own money, but I humbly ask for you assistance in helping these kids.
