I have chosen these books with the same excitement that my students get when they find a new book to love! My class has a wide range of reading levels in English and Spanish. It is important that I provide a variety of books in both languages for students to independently read a book of interest and at their reading level. Reading should not be a chore, it is a gift!
Adding new books in Spanish and English to my classroom library will give more opportunities for my bilingual students to practice reading at school and at home. My students that participate in an at-home reading program will be able to share these books with their families. The school library books are often not accessible to my students, if they have not returned or are unable to pay dues for books lost since kindergarten. Though there is a small selection of books in Spanish available to my students, access to Spanish materials is limited. Some families report not having books at home in either or both languages, much less at their child's reading level. Your donation will help me give the gift of reading to all of my bilingual readers en espa帽ol e ingl茅s. Thank you!
