Every day students participate in a station rotation, moving from table to table around the classroom. Each table houses a different purpose, one is used for guided reading which requires the teacher to be close to all students to promote learning in a collaborative environment. With a new kidney table in our classroom this will be possible!
Currently, students sit at rectangle wooden tables that do not allow for easy collaboration and discussion. With the new addition to our classroom students students will be close enough to check fluency, read aloud, and discuss while practicing eye contact and social skills.
