I teach a bunch of wild first graders in a small town in South Dakota. We all know that first grade is a big year! Students aren't quite ready to leave kindergarten play time behind but aren't ready enough to focus and work like second graders. This is why I love to implement STEM projects in my classroom.
With these STEM bins, my students will be allowed to create and build using a variety of manipulatives while communicating and collaborating with their peers. They are allowed to work freely or together to solve engineering problems by thinking differently. I find that students LOVE doing these projects and are always so proud of their work!
