My choir students have been voicing and demonstrating that they are ready to be heard. Before I arrived at this school last year, they had the desire to sing and get recognition from the community, but they were searching for the confidence. By the end of last year, after many successful performances and community outreaches, they proved to me that they have indeed worked incredibly hard, demonstrated courage and great discipline, and they've given their vision the commitment that it demands. They are eager to climb to new heights and I want to help pave the way for them to have this source of pride and accomplishment.
My students told me that they want to be a SHOW CHOIR, and I said LET'S DO IT! They realize that this endeavor will not happen overnight, and with limited budgets, we will get there one piece at a time. We have a lot of fundraising to do this year, for dresses and suits, and also to go on a small tour. But one technical necessity that I would like to provide for them is a mic set up that is adequate for our auditorium. This microphone with the microboom stand will make an incredible difference not only in our group sound, but in our ever-increasing choir confidence and morale. I want their hard work to not be in vain; I want them to be heard and be proud of their sound.
