My students are extremely curious and love to take an active role in their learning. They need hands-on, concrete experiences to drive their learning. I like to provide authentic experiences that connect with and integrate every area I'm teaching. When I am teaching science there are experiences correlating in every center area in our classroom. This provides evidence that prove the words and information I am front loading.
My class loves to design, build, and create. The blocks and other building materials I have requested will enable my students to have experiences creating with different sorts of materials. They will be able to hypothesize, investigate, and evaluate how the different materials will connect. This will allow them to build and develop their problem solving skills.
The puppets and art supplies will enable children to perspective take, negotiate, and explore the larger world around them. This will also take their learning into new areas and help them integrate learning, connecting social lessons to science lessons to the books they read.
The shelves and baskets are to help us organize and care for our new materials.
My class is driven by learning. The tools listed here will enable us to more fully explore and investigate our world and have more fully developed learning experiences.
