Although I teach Social Studies, I try to incorporate technology into my instruction as much as possible. It engages my students much more than any other resource. For example, it is much more impactful for students to explore Earth鈥檚 major landforms via Google Earth, rather than them just seeing a picture, reading a description, etc. While I use technology to teach Social Studies content, I also integrate lessons on how to use digital tools, such as search engines, digital platforms, etc. These are lifelong skills that my students can use throughout school and beyond. While my school does have some student devices, they are shared between many students and teachers. Therefore, a couple of devices for my classroom specifically would open up the possibilities for my students to not only learn content in an engaging way, but to become digital, lifelong learners.
