I teach Algebra 1 and Geometry. My students will be creating an interactive notebook with their notes throughout the school year. Each unit will be a different color. There are 5 units in Algebra 1 and 9 units in Geometry. I like the double sided tape better than glue sticks. Double sided tape is more permanent. Glue sticks don't stay sticking as well due to the humidity in my area.
The students can use these interactive notebooks to help them with practice assignments, studying for tests, and reviewing concepts they learned in my class while taking future math classes or helping their future children in their high school math classes. Through out the year I go through with the students how to reference their notes in their interactive notebooks as we do the practice assignments until they are doing it themselves. Then I know they will continue to reference their interactive notebooks in future math classes and with their own classes.
