Alongside learning about social competencies, my students are learning valuable skills related to their individualized post-secondary plans. We focus on skills related to social functioning, executive functioning, and academic skills, but rarely get a chance to work on daily living skills. Please help me help my students practice cooking for themselves! Our lessons will focus on making delicious and nutritious meals students can make independently using only a microwave. We will practice following directions and correctly cooking frozen or prepackaged meals, and then as our skills increase, we will practice reading recipes and creating our own microwaved meals.
