The materials from this project will help my students feel more comfortable in their learning environment. The supplies I am asking for will allow me to teach students in a flexible way that addresses each individual need while also servicing the class as a whole. Having a beautiful, safe, and comfortable environment will give my students the opportunity to gain a life long love for learning. I will use the Lakeshore rug for interactive read aloud lessons.
We will gather on our carpet to read together and discuss reading projects. I also plan to use this carpet as a place for students to gather during independent work time, silent reading time, and whole group lessons. Our interactive read-aloud sessions will give students the chance to use their auditory learning skills in conjunction with completing hands on activities such as turn and talks, and stop and jots. These activities will allow them to process what they are learning and help them comprehend the texts and information.
The P.E equipment will be used daily for our morning challenges. In these daily activities students will be placed on teams and are asked to complete relay races or physical challenges. This will help build physical fitness awareness, team building skills, and good sportsmanship.
