Math take-home toolkits will help get parents involved in their child’s learning. Children learn when they are having fun and what better way to learn math than playing a card or dice game as a family. Dice and a deck of cards are two resources in a take-home kit. These are usually my students’ favorites because they can use them to play games with their family members. The toolkit will contain all the necessary materials (dice, cards, games), supplies (pencil, eraser, etc.) and instructions to complete the tasks and games included in the take-home bag. The kit will also include whiteboards and markers to use to solve problems so paper is not necessary. Math games help increase math fact fluency using addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division. Many of our students are below grade level in math and parents struggle to help their children due to not always having the necessary materials at home. The kits will contain skills at the student’s current learning level or with enrichment activities. These Math Take Home Toolkits are perfect for getting parents involved because they will have everything they need to help their child be successful.
