Teaching English Language Arts I see a variety of student responses when asking them to read. This year especially, I've been working on incorporating more hands-on activities that allow students to shine with their creativity as they bring scenes from the stories ad passages we read to life. Last year the absence of in-person learning as well as socialization was detrimental to their success.
Using these projects will continue to enable them to connect with stories in new ways. It also allows students who thrive more kinesthetically to shine as well. The tablet will allow me flexibility and convenience to continue working on things I need to and incorporating digital elements for students. Based on the few things we've done so far in my classroom, students have responded very positively to the opportunity of expressing themselves in a different way in English. I look forward to engaging them in more of these activities as the year continues. (RL.8.2-3). Some ways we will use the materials and resources requested are by creating visual models of stories we read, visual models of characters, poster projects, and more.
