I will be able to use this easel throughout the day while teaching reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. It has rings on the top which will allow me to hang chart paper against a surface to easily write on or display information. The surface of the board is a magnetic white board. When chart paper isn't being used I can use the white board while working with small groups of students or use the many different math magnetic visuals I have when teaching math. Since the easel is on wheels it can be front and center when we're using it but can easily be moved to another area when it is not in use.
In addition to being used for other subject areas it will help us do the morning message portion of our morning meeting each day. The message will be waiting for the students to read as they walk in the classroom. As the class gathers around the board we will read the message together, practice editing, and discuss how the message applies to our day. The messages can relate to topics we'll be learning that day and since it is on a free standing chart, instead of a surface that I would be constantly erasing we could refer back to it throughout the day.
