Using the materials for this project, students will work through design and engineering challenges. They'll work through the engineering process from start to finish and make connections between the hands-on learning and building they do to the science they'll be reading about in their texts.
Students will build collaboration and teamwork skills by working in groups at the Makerspace whiteboard table as they strategize and experiment, prototype and redesign. They'll make posters, build robots and simple structures that withstand the natural disasters they explore in their readings.
Finally, they'll stay organized in the space and during transitions with their own tray cubby.
