A light table and translucent manipulatives will allow my PreK students to explore learning through a new 'light.' Students will be drawn to the light and manipulatives, which makes learning fun. The students will use the light table to explore letters, numbers, building blocks, and shapes to increase skills such as counting, patterning, sorting, sequencing, letter/sound identification, identifying quantities, sharing, communicating with peers, and solving problems.
Learning through play-based activities is the key to early childhood education. A light table would encourage reluctant learners to explore and play with numbers, letters, colors, and shapes in a fun and interactive way.
