We would like to begin our senior year reading Tom Franklin's Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter. Franklin's novel is a beautiful, empathetic rendering of what it's like growing up in Mississipppi. The novel is rich in theme and will help us prepare for a challenging senior year, grappling with complicated texts.
This is class set will allow each student to have a copy of the book in hand as we read through the chapters during our lessons. It is so important for my students to be able to hold a book in hand in order to wrestle with the text. By supporting this project, you are helping to instill a love for reading that many student will carry with them beyond my classroom.
