The stones provide students a chance to move with purpose first thing in the morning. As they move from stone to stone, happy neurotransmitters ( Acetylcholine, Glutamate, Dopamine) related to memory and learning are released in the developing brain creating a better learning environment. It also gives the learners multiple problem solving opportunities as they move from stone to stone. The movements throughout the room creates a sense of community as student support and cheer on their peers and a sense of belonging. Finally, the stones come with specific academic components (letters and numbers) to increase the fun and learning opportunities as students create words or math problems to solve.
