After several years of teaching, most of the books in my classroom library are damaged and outdated. Help me update my library with a variety of fiction and nonfiction books for my students. These books will be used during my daily read-aloud time, as well as being placed in my student reading center. They will help me supplement instruction in areas of social studies and science, as they cover a variety of topics such as community helpers, nutrition, earth, environment, and seasons.
Not only does reading aloud help children develop imagination and learn about the world, but it's critical to their success in school. Young children develop literacy and language skills from reading, and they need access to a variety of books to help them practice their skills independently.
